I
am new to HTML. Can you walk me through the setup of adding
a FreeViral.com banner on my main website?
Unfortunately
we are unable to provide this type of support. We have a huge
number of new members every day (every hour!) therefore it
is impossible for us to personally answer email from newbies
on basic HTML and how-to's. Sorry, timewise it is just physically
impossible, and remember, we are a free service.
We suggest
you consult a friend or relative who can help you set things
up. Or, consult the person who produced your website. If you
want to learn HTML, you may want to purchase a beginners book,
or check the search engines for HTML tutorial sites (there
are many!).
Can you summarize what
should be where?
On your
main page, you should have a banner or a link which advertises
your FreeViral.com page. (you can get a banner and HTML code
snippent from the FreeViral.com members area)
Next,
you have your own FreeViral.com page (hosted on our server),
with your ad (which advertises your main site) in the #1 position.
That's it!
I just signed up for
FreeViral.com. Is there instructions on how to add my advertisement?
When
you signed up for FreeViral.com you typed a text ad, plus
your website's URL. To change your ad, simply log into the
FreeViral.com members area and type a new ad.
Could you provide me
with an html example/snippet for placing the FreeViral.com
banner on my main page?
You can
find this in the FreeViral.com members area.
How do I turn off my
email spam filters?
If you're using browser-based email
(like Yahoo mail or Hotmail).....
a) Disable spam filtering. You can usually find the spam filter
controls in the Options menu.
b) Some browser-based email systems will not delete spam/junkmail.
Instead, junkmail is automatically re-routed to a Bulk folder,
so users may review the email before deleting.
If you're using a pc client program
such as Outlook Express, Eudora, or Netscape Mail.....
a) Disabling spam filtering in your email client software,
if such an option exisits.
If you're using a pc client program
such as Outlook Express, Eudora, or Netscape Mail, **AND**
you also have Firewall software, Virus checker software, or
Spam-blocking software running on your PC......
a) Disable spam filtering in your Firewall, Virus checker,
or Spamblock software b) If that does not work, disable the
entire software. (the software will be re-enabled after you
re-boot your PC)
My remotely hosted
website will not let me add banners. What should I do?
You can
put the FreeViral banner on ANY website you own. If you don't
own another site, you can get a free website from any number
of places that offer free sites and free hosting. (use the
search engines to locate a provider). You do not have to put
a banner anywhere. Alternatively you can promote your FreeViral
page using direct email to your list, or ezine ads in various
ezines, or by numerous other methods. Remember that the key
to success with FreeViral is to get some webmasters signed
up on your Level 1. After that the viral effect can take place.
But if you don't promote your FreeViral page and you don't
get any webmasters on your Level 1, then FreeViral won't work
for you.
